Mark Hatten has more than 35 years experience in building businesses in the telecommunications, electronics and enterprise software industries. Mr. Hatten brings a track record of success, and an in-depth understanding of both service and technology companies.
Mr. Hatten founded and was Chief Executive Officer of SmartLink Radio Networks Inc., a company engaged in the development, manufacture and sale of land mobile radio (LMR) networking technology used in public safety and in critical infrastructure. SmartLink has installed more than 90 systems throughout the world. Mr. Hatten sold SmartLink in April, 2007.
Additionally, he was a founder and is a Board Member of both Travel Sciences, Inc., a software application developer for the travel industry and IM Interactive Corp., a technology company that specializes in commercial instant messaging.
Mr. Hatten was the Chairman/CEO of KSI Inc., an E-911 location company. KSI was awarded several patents for the angle of arrival method of location by triangulation of cellular telephones. In 2000, KSI was sold to TruePosition, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Liberty Media.
Prior to KSI, Mr. Hatten founded Connecticut Telephone & Communications Systems, Inc. and was its Chairman and CEO until the company was acquired in 1998.
Mr. Karoczkai joined Mutualink in 2006 to lead the Company’s expansion and development efforts.
Prior to Mutualink, Mr. Karoczkai has served as InfoHighway Communications Corporations’ Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing from 1999 to 2006. Mr. Karoczkai, together with the other founders of the business, raised $45 million of private equity from GTCR Golder Rauner in 2000. InfoHighway was sold to Eureka Networks in September 2005.
During his tenure at InfoHighway, Mr. Karoczkai was responsible for InfoHighway’s marketing and sales functions including new product development (including its flagship Voice-over-IP service, Hosted PBX), product management, pricing and distribution and direct and indirect sales channel management. Mr. Karoczkai was also responsible for key regulatory and business development initiatives of InfoHighway.
He has served as the Chairman of the PACE Coalition, a Washington D.C.-based industry organization dedicated to ensure the continued availability and viability of the unbundled network element platform ("UNE-P") across the United States.
From 1997 to 1999, Mr. Karoczkai was Vice President, Marketing and Product Management for Bell Atlantic Telecom Industry Services (now Verizon Wholesale Services), Bell Atlantic Corporation’s wholesale division, with estimated revenues of over $1 billion in 1999. In this position, Mr. Karoczkai was responsible for the development of key wholesale initiative. From 1995 to 1997, Mr. Karoczkai was the Managing Director, Resale Services of NYNEX Corporation, where he established the company’s resale distribution.
From 1992 to 1995, Mr. Karoczkai was Director, Marketing for NYNEX Mobile Communications Company (now Verizon Wireless), managing NYNEX Mobile’s reseller channel and developing channel strategy for the company’s agent, direct and telemarketing distribution. Mr. Karoczkai began his career in marketing computer networks and services for technology companies.
Mr. Karoczkai received his BS in Marketing Management from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and his MBA in Marketing and International Management from New York University.
Mr. Boucher has been responsible for the development of the Mutualink Interoperability system. He has over 16 years experience in telecommunications research and development, with 12 years of that focused on cutting-edge voice communications; he also holds several key Voice-over-IP (VoIP) patents.
From 2002 to 2003, Mr. Boucher was responsible for developing the VoIP-over-WLAN infrastructure for Meru Networks, a global leader in wireless data and voice networks. He also directed the development of Meru's first 802.11 access point, a pioneering breakthrough in enabling Quality-of-Service on standard wireless networks.
From 1995 to 2002, Mr. Boucher was the System Architect and Chief Engineer at Jetstream Communications. In this role, he led the development of the world's first Voice-over-Broadband product, the CPX-1000. This product was a carrier-grade, highly-available server that provided Voice-over-DSL (VoDSL) telephony service for up to 2,000 customers.
Prior to Jetstream, Mr. Boucher developed voicemail products for Octel Communications (acquired by Lucent/Avaya).
Mr. Boucher received his BSEE in Computer Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY.
Colin McWay joined Mutualink in 2006 as COO and CFO.
Mr. McWay has 20 years experience in the telecommunications industry, specializing in operations, finance and marketing. Prior to joining Mutualink, Mr. McWay served as President of SmartLink Radio Networks Inc. a provider of two-way radio interoperability technology for first responders.
Prior to joining SmartLink, Mr. McWay served as CEO of Viasource Communications, a broadband deployment company with 2,500 service technicians in approximately 200 profit centers throughout the United States. Viasource was sold to a competitor in March of 2002.
Previously, Mr. McWay served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Connecticut Telephone & Communications Systems, Inc., the nation’s third largest non-facilities based carrier. Additionally, Mr. McWay served on the Board of Directors of the National Wireless Resellers Association, Telecommunication Resellers Association and was appointed to the advisory board of The Clean Energy Fund. Mr. McWay was named one of Connecticut's "Top Forty Under Forty" in 2000.
