The following positions are located in the Wallingford, CT facility.
Position Objectives:
The Mutualink systems are mission critical and must work when called upon by personnel operating under extreme pressure. The Senior Director of Field Operations will be responsible for the proper application, installation, configuration, training, and operation of all deployed systems. The entire field operations team will bridge the gap between the company’s direct and indirect sales channels and the rest of the company including development engineering, system quality assurance, and manufacturing. Although the appropriate sales channel will maintain high level account relationship responsibility, the Field Operations Department will be responsible for all day-to-day customer involvement regarding the actual operation of the system.
An integral part of the Field Operations Department will be the Customer Service and Support Department that will field all prospect, customer, and partner questions and will record and “own” any request until its resolution. Aside from the Customer Service and Support Department, Field Operations will be staffed and be responsible for a number of discrete tasks including:
- Application Engineering (sales support)
- Project Management
- Field Installation
- Customer Training
- Radio System Integration
- Video System Integration
- Telco System Integration
- Network Backbone Connectivity
- Application Program Interface Support
Education/Certification/Technical/Other Requirements:
- Education: Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Computer Science or other technical area.
- MBA or practical “business” experience
- Supervisory Responsibilities: Assume the responsibilities of managing existing personnel carrying out (most of) the tasks listed above. Evaluate and re-assign personnel as required and hire new personnel to form the overall Field Operations organization.
- US citizenship or permanent residency status required.
General Description of Responsibilities (not in any particular order):
Existing staff provides many of these functions today with overlapping responsibilities. Staff needs to be added and responsibilities more clearly defined distribution strategy matures.
- Develop an overall Field Operations plan that can be applied to multiple markets that are served either directly by the Company or through indirect channel partners.
- Develop an organization that consists of Customer Support Department, Customer Service Department, Field Engineering, Field Installation, and Network Operations personnel that will be responsible for the support of all products and systems sold by the company and, as appropriate, sold by the company's indirect channel partners.
- Develop configuration, installation, testing, turn-up, monitoring and troubleshooting processes and procedures that support the deployment and operation of systems.
- Formulate and implement specific programs that allow the company to develop a strong, positive image with our partners and customers based upon our "flexible" and "responsive" responses to virtually ANY of their issues or needs.
- Provide technical support and customer service operations for our business partners and customers.
- Work closely with Manufacturing to coordinate the fulfillment of orders, shipping, and deploying systems and managing the upgrading, return, and repair of components.
- Perform other related duties and tasks as necessary or as assigned.
- Conduct and report on regularly scheduled status reviews during the development and introductory phase of a program.
- Work Experience/Personal Skill Requirements:
- Previously held a senior field operations position in the telecommunications segment; preferably involved in wireless systems.
- Experience in working for small, start-up companies (with little pre-established processes and support systems)
- Experience in a high technology system company (involving radio frequency equipment would be a major plus).
- Experience in working with both direct and indirect (partner) sales and service organizations.
- Experience in setting up standards, processes, and procedures
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, and establishing an organizational structure (from scratch)
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate at all levels of the company.
- Direct, pragmatic approach and willing and able to work with personnel at all levels within the company.
- Excellent external partner, prospect, and customer skills in identifying root cause issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Experience with working with or for public safety/first responder agencies is a definite plus.
- Experience in working with the military market a definite plus.
- Excellent computer skills and proficiency with MS Word, Excel, etc.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.

Description:
Radio/Wireless Technicians / System Engineers are responsible for the implementation, deployment and successful integration of public safety radio communications networks. The ideal candidate will also have substantial bench and component level experience and demonstrable success interfacing with customers. The position requires domestic travel. Experience designing installing and maintaining public safety radio systems is a prerequisite.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Five years+ experience designing and deploying public safety radio communication systems
- Good working knowledge of public safety two way radio systems (including conventional, SmartNet/SmartZone, EDACS, and LTR-Net) and dispatch console systems
- Working knowledge of IP networks and Linux systems (VoIP a plus)
- Working knowledge of FDMA, TDM, FSK, FM, AM, Spread Spectrum, RS232, RS449, V.35, T1/T3
- Good working knowledge of BERT test sets, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, communications monitors, and transmission test sets
- Ability to quickly grasp new products and technologies.
- Ability to read schematics.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- FCC and APCO Certifications a plus
- Multiplexer and microwave experience and tower site work/grounding experience a plus.
- 4-year college degree is preferred.

Qualifications:

Description:
The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and support of IP networks used to deploy Mutualink customer networks as well as the Mutualink corporate network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have substantial IP WAN and LAN networking experience with specific knowledge of unicast and multicast routing protocols and building large-scale VPN networks. Candidates must be familiar with configuring, installing and troubleshooting Cisco routing equipment in colocation environments.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Five years+ experience designing and deploying WAN and LAN IP Networks.
- Good working knowledge of routing protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP, PIM-SM, and PIM-DM.
- Good working knowledge of building and troubleshooting large-scale multicast-capable VPN networks using the GRE, IPsec and DMVPN protocols.
- Experience with installing and configuring routers, servers, and firewalls.
- Working knowledge of Linux networking configuration (VoIP a plus).
- Experience monitoring networks for performance and scalability issues.
- Proficient with routine preventative measures and implementing, maintaining and monitoring network security.
- Ability to analyze network issues, routing mis-configurations and access faults.
- Ability to quickly grasp new products and technologies.
- Ability to read and create network diagrams and documentation.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- IP Networking, IT and/or Cisco certifications is a plus.
- 4-year college degree is preferred.
